Manuscript Support by Index

ABDC Manuscript Support from Shodhyantri

The ABDC Journal Quality List is published by the Australian Business Deans Council and ranks business and management journals as A*, A, B or C. Indian business schools, AACSB-seeking institutions and many universities use it to evaluate faculty research. Our ABDC manuscript support helps MBA, PhD and faculty researchers prepare their own papers in management, marketing, finance, accounting, economics and information systems.

The expectations rise with the rank. A C-ranked journal may welcome a careful applied study of an Indian market. A* and A journals usually expect a clear theoretical contribution, strong identification or measurement, and positioning against leading international work. We read your target journal, assess where your paper stands, and edit structure, argument, reporting and style to match. You approve every change we suggest.

How the ABDC list ranks business journals

The ABDC list covers journals across business disciplines, grouped by Field of Research codes. Each journal is placed in one of four categories: A* for the highest quality, then A, B and C. The list is reviewed periodically by expert panels, so a journal's rank can change between reviews. Always check the current published list.

ABDC journals vary widely in style. Finance and economics journals often expect econometric rigour and robustness tests. Marketing and organisational behaviour journals usually test theory with survey or experimental data. Accounting journals may use archival data. Information systems journals mix design science and behavioural research. ABDC manuscript support must respect these field norms.

Why scholars choose us

Why choose Shodhyantri for ABDC manuscript support

01

Rank-aware assessment

We give you an honest view of whether your paper's contribution and method suit A*, A, B or C journals, so your effort goes in the right direction.

02

Managerial relevance shown

We help you write practical implications that a manager, regulator or policymaker could use, without overstating what one study can prove.

03

Econometrics reported correctly

Our analysts check panel, time-series and event study reporting, including fixed effects, clustering, endogeneity tests and robustness checks.

04

Survey models presented well

For marketing and HR papers, we review SEM and PLS-SEM measurement, mediation and moderation reporting to current methodological standards.

05

Indian context positioned

We help you show why an Indian market or firm setting offers a useful test of theory, not just a new location for an old model.

06

House styles respected

Business journals often have their own reference and heading styles; we follow the specific journal's guide and recent articles carefully.

Quality checkpoints

Six checks your work passes through

Stage 1Rank realism

The target category matches the paper's contribution, data quality and methodological depth.

Stage 2Contribution framing

The introduction states the gap, the answer and why it matters within three paragraphs.

Stage 3Theoretical logic

Hypotheses are derived from theory, and results are interpreted back through the same theory.

Stage 4Empirical rigour

Models, tests and robustness checks meet the field's current expectations for the target rank.

Stage 5Practical value

Implications are specific, useful to practitioners and proportionate to the evidence presented.

Stage 6Presentation standard

Language, tables and references follow the journal's house style throughout, without any inconsistency.

Deliverables

What you receive, and what we need from you

What you will receive

  • Rank-fit and contribution assessment note
  • Edited manuscript with tracked changes
  • Clean copy in journal house style
  • Methods and results reporting comments
  • Reformatted results tables
  • Implications and limitations suggestions
  • Corrected reference list
  • Pre-submission checklist for the target journal

What we need to start

  • Manuscript draft and the ABDC rank you aim for
  • Target journal names, if already shortlisted
  • Data source description and variable definitions
  • STATA, EViews, R, SPSS, AMOS or SmartPLS outputs
  • Questionnaire or experimental materials, if used
  • Previous reviewer comments, if the paper was rejected
Review before you approve.

Every stage is shared with notes explaining what was changed and why. You and your supervisor check it, and the next stage starts only after your go-ahead.

Avoid these

Common mistakes and how we handle them

Common problemHow Shodhyantri helps
Targeting an A* journal with a single cross-sectional survey and no new theory.Match ambition to evidence: strengthen design and theory for top ranks, or target a B or C journal where the contribution fits.
An introduction that spends two pages on industry statistics before the research question.Open with the research problem, state the gap and your contribution early, and keep industry context brief and relevant.
Finance regressions reported without clustering, fixed effects or robustness tests.Justify the model, report standard error treatment, include relevant fixed effects and add robustness checks reviewers would expect.
Practical implications that simply say managers should focus on the significant variables.Explain what a manager should do differently, under what conditions, and what the size of the effect means in practice.
Treating India as the only contribution without explaining why the setting matters.Show how Indian institutions, markets or culture test, extend or challenge the theory in a way other settings cannot.
Ignoring the journal's house style and submitting in generic APA.Read the author guide and two recent articles, then apply the exact citation, heading and table conventions the journal uses.
Expert tips

Practical tips for ABDC manuscript support

Tip 01

Check the current ABDC list

Ranks are revised periodically; confirm your target journal's current category on the latest published list before deciding.

Tip 02

Read the top papers cited

Identify the A* and A papers your study builds on, and make sure your contribution speaks directly to their findings.

Tip 03

Lead with the research question

Business reviewers want to know the question, the gap and the answer within the first page of the manuscript.

Tip 04

Show economic significance

Beyond statistical significance, explain how large the effect is in money, market share or behaviour terms.

Tip 05

Pre-empt endogeneity concerns

Discuss reverse causality and omitted variables openly, and report any instrument, lag or matching approach you used.

Tip 06

Use clean results tables

Report coefficients, standard errors, significance markers, observations and fit statistics in a consistent, readable table layout.

Tip 07

Keep the literature review focused

Review the studies that build your argument, rather than summarising every paper ever written on the topic.

Tip 08

Ask a colleague to read first

A colleague outside your subfield can quickly tell you whether the contribution is clear to a general business reader.

Your team

One project, a matched team

Your work is handled by people who read your field's literature, not by a single generalist.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What do the ABDC categories A*, A, B and C mean?

They are quality categories set by the Australian Business Deans Council. A* represents the highest quality journals in a field, followed by A, B and C. Expectations for theory, method and contribution generally rise with the category. Check the latest list, since ranks are revised periodically.

Can you tell me which ABDC rank my paper suits?

We can give an honest, reasoned opinion based on your contribution, data and method, and on what recently published papers in each rank look like. It is a professional judgement, not a prediction of the outcome. Editors and reviewers make the final decision.

Do you guarantee acceptance in an ABDC A or B journal?

No. ABDC journals use peer review, and acceptance depends on editors and reviewers. We do not promise publication, rank or timelines. Our aim is to strengthen framing, reporting and presentation so that your paper is evaluated fairly on its research quality.

Can you check my econometric results?

Yes. Our analysts review panel data models, GMM, event studies, time-series tests and regression reporting in STATA, EViews or R output. We check specification, diagnostics and robustness reporting, and we discuss with you before suggesting any reanalysis.

Is the ABDC list the same as Scopus or Web of Science?

No. ABDC is a quality ranking of business journals, while Scopus and Web of Science are citation databases. Many ABDC journals are also indexed in those databases, but not all. Your institution may use one or several of these lists, so confirm its rules.

Will you write the literature review for my paper?

No. The literature review must be your own reading and synthesis. We review its structure, point out missing key studies, check that it builds towards your hypotheses and edit the language. You make the changes, so you understand the argument fully.

Can you help after a rejection from an A journal?

Yes. We read the decision letter and reviewer comments with you, identify which concerns need new analysis or reframing, and help you prepare a stronger manuscript for the next journal. The research decisions remain yours throughout.
