Manuscript Support by Publisher

Taylor & Francis Manuscript Support from Shodhyantri

Taylor & Francis manuscript support at Shodhyantri helps scholars present their work in the style a T&F journal expects. Taylor & Francis publishes journals under its own name and under imprints such as Routledge, with especially strong lists in the humanities, social sciences, education, area studies and applied sciences. Each journal names one of the T&F reference styles in its Instructions for Authors, and applying it accurately is one of the most visible signs of care.

Paper ready to submit? Our Taylor & Francis publication support covers journal selection, submission and reviewer responses.

We work with PhD and Master's scholars across India, including Hindi-medium researchers moving into English-language journals, and with international authors. The research, sources and interpretation stay yours. We edit language, align the structure with your discipline, apply the chosen style guide and prepare required statements. Every edit is tracked, so you can explain and defend each choice to your supervisor or reviewers.

How Taylor & Francis journals set their style

Taylor & Francis maintains a set of reference style guides that its journals select from. These include versions of APA, Chicago author-date, Chicago notes and bibliography, Harvard, Vancouver and others, along with T&F's own standard styles. The Instructions for Authors page of each journal states which one applies, along with word limits, abstract length and the number of keywords.

T&F offers Interact templates in Word and LaTeX that many of its journals accept, and a number of journals allow format-free first submission. Authors usually provide a disclosure statement on competing interests, funding details and, for many journals, a data availability statement. In humanities journals, endnotes or footnotes, long quotations and translated sources need consistent handling.

Why scholars choose us

Why choose Shodhyantri for Taylor & Francis manuscript support

01

Style guides are exacting

Chicago notes, APA and Harvard each treat page numbers, translated works and edited volumes differently. We apply your journal's chosen guide consistently throughout.

02

Humanities need careful handling

Long quotations, archival sources and non-English titles require precise formatting. We handle transliteration and translated titles in line with the style guide.

03

Argument comes first

Social science and humanities reviewers judge the clarity of the argument. We help sharpen your thesis statement and the signposting between sections.

04

Regional research, global readers

Indian case studies must be explained for international readers. We flag local terms, acronyms and policy names that need a short explanation.

05

Statements done properly

Disclosure, funding and data statements are checked by editorial offices. We help you write them accurately and place them where the journal asks.

06

Ownership stays with you

We guide, edit and format. Your ideas, sources and conclusions remain your own, and tracked changes keep every decision transparent.

Avoid these

Common mistakes and how we handle them

Common problemHow Shodhyantri helps
Mixing APA and Harvard conventions within one T&F journal manuscript.Confirm the journal's chosen style and apply it to every entry, including ampersands, dates and page ranges.
Using footnotes for references when the journal requires author-date citations.Convert notes into in-text citations and a reference list, keeping only explanatory notes the journal permits.
Leaving Hindi or regional titles untranslated in the reference list.Give the original title, transliterated if needed, followed by an English translation in square brackets as the style allows.
Writing a long literature review before stating the paper's own argument.State your argument and contribution in the introduction, then use literature to position it rather than delay it.
Assuming readers understand Indian schemes, acts or abbreviations without explanation.Explain local schemes, laws and acronyms briefly at first mention so international reviewers can follow the context.
Exceeding the word limit by counting only the main text.Check what the journal includes in its count, such as notes, references and tables, and trim accordingly.
Expert tips

Practical tips for Taylor & Francis manuscript support

Tip 01

Download the exact style guide

T&F publishes its reference guides as downloadable documents; keep the one your journal names open while editing.

Tip 02

Use a reference manager

Zotero or EndNote with the right style file saves hours and prevents inconsistent entries across drafts.

Tip 03

Signpost your argument

Short sentences at the start of each section telling readers what comes next help reviewers follow complex arguments.

Tip 04

Explain your case context

A short paragraph on the Indian setting, policy or community helps international readers judge relevance.

Tip 05

Check permissions for images

Images, maps and long quotations from published works may need permission before T&F can publish them.

Tip 06

Write the disclosure plainly

State any competing interests directly or confirm there are none; vague phrasing leads to editorial queries.

Tip 07

Read the aims and scope

T&F journals can be narrow in focus, so test your paper against the stated scope before polishing.

Tip 08

Keep a clean anonymised copy

Prepare the blind version last, after all edits, so no identifying text slips back in.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Which reference style does a Taylor & Francis journal use?

It depends on the journal. Each T&F journal chooses one style from the publisher's set of reference guides, such as APA, Chicago, Harvard or Vancouver, and states it in the Instructions for Authors. We apply that exact style throughout your manuscript.

Can you help with Chicago notes and bibliography?

Yes. Notes-based styles are common in history, literature and area studies journals. We format footnotes or endnotes, shortened forms for later notes, and the bibliography, and check that each note matches its source and page reference.

Is the Interact template compulsory?

Not always. Many T&F journals accept the Interact Word or LaTeX template, and some allow format-free initial submission. The journal's instructions say what is expected. We can prepare your paper in the template or in a clean, simply formatted document.

Will T&F publish my paper if you edit it?

We cannot promise that. Editors and peer reviewers decide on acceptance based on originality, argument and fit. Our editing removes language and style problems that distract reviewers, but publication decisions belong only to the journal.

Can you translate my Hindi paper for a T&F journal?

We offer translation support, but the translated text must still be reviewed and approved by you as the author. Translation changes nuance, so we work closely with you on key terms, and the final paper must express your own argument.

Do you check copyright permissions?

We flag images, tables, maps and long quotations that may need permission, but obtaining permission is the author's responsibility. We can help you draft a permission request and record the credit line the rights holder asks for.

What is covered in T&F publication support instead?

Our separate T&F publication support covers journal selection, the submission portal, tracking, responses to reviewers, revisions and proof checking. This page is limited to preparing the manuscript itself to the journal's style and requirements before you submit it.
